Rudolf Tittelbach

Rudolf Tittelbach (born October 11, 1919 , † July 30, 1985 ) was a German police officer. He was Lieutenant General and Deputy Minister of the Interior of the GDR .

Life

Tittelbach joined the SED in 1946 and became a member of the German People's Police (VP). From 1952 he was head of the VP operational security at VEB Leuna-Werke , then an officer in the district authorities of the people's police in Halle and Magdeburg . Tittelbach studied at the University of the German People's Police "Karl Liebknecht" in Berlin-Kaulsdorf . He was then head of the finance department and from 1967 to 1985 - as successor to Major General Herbert Glaeser - head of the utility services department in the Ministry of the Interior (MdI). From 1981 to 1985 Tittelbach was Deputy Minister of the Interior of the GDR . For many years he was chairman of the revision commission of the SED district leadership of the MdI.

In 1969 he was appointed major general , and in 1982 promoted to lieutenant general.

Tittelbach was buried in the VdN facility at the central cemetery in Berlin-Friedrichsfelde .
