Rudolf von Gasser

Rudolf Ludwig Karl Josef Freiherr von Gasser (born March 22, 1829 in Saint Petersburg , † November 28, 1904 in Munich ) was a Bavarian diplomat and court official.

Life

Rudolf von Gasser was born in Saint Petersburg as the son of the banker Christoph von Gasser and Julie. born of flights. He studied at the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn . In 1847 he became a member of the Corps Borussia Bonn . After completing his studies, he entered the diplomatic service of the Kingdom of Bavaria . From 1868 to 1874 he was envoy of the Kingdom of Bavaria to the Württemberg court in Stuttgart and at the same time to the Hessian court in Darmstadt . From 1874 to 1883 he was envoy to the Saxon court in Dresden . From 1883 to 1903 he served as envoy and plenipotentiary minister at the Imperial Russian court in Saint Petersburg . Von Gasser was the royal Bavarian treasurer and state councilor in the external service. His first marriage was with Therese Freiin von Redwitz and, from 1886, the second with Alice born. married by Fehleisen.
