The street formerly known as Rue Émile Augier (after the French playwright Émile Augier , 1820–1889) and before that as Rue Camille Charpentier was given its current name in memory of the French poet Jean Richepin (1849–1926), who was listed in the number 83 Villa Guibert , located in the neighboring Rue de la Tour, lived.
