The second Rugby League World Cup took place in Australia in 1957 . Four teams took part in it and the games were played in the Australian cities of Sydney and Brisbane . In the course of this world championship , the Australian team dominated the tournament and won all games, so there was no final and Australia was declared world champion for the first time.
