Life
Rulemann Friedrich Eylert was born as the son of Johann Rulemann Ludwig Eylert . Rulemann Friedrich Eylert studied theology at the University of Halle and was a member of the Corps Guestphalia Halle since 1791 . He did his doctorate in Halle for D. theol. In 1794 he succeeded his father as pastor at the Reformed community in Hamm .
In 1806, on the recommendation of Freiherr vom Stein , Eylert was appointed court, guard and garrison preacher in Potsdam and pastor of the Prussian royal couple. He was also the most important advisor to the Prussian king in questions of church politics. On behalf of Friedrich Wilhelm III. he formulated his call to the Union of Lutherans and Reformed of September 27, 1817.
In 1818 he was appointed by the king as a Protestant bishop , member of the State Council and the Ministry of Spiritual and Educational Affairs. The rather reactionary constitutional policy of the Prussian crown after 1819 should also be due to the influence of Eylert on Friedrich Wilhelm III. have been due.
Eylert was of ecclesiastical political importance in the Prussian agendas , which escalated after the unsuccessful call for union in 1817 and the attempted enforcement by the king. Eylert implemented a uniform liturgy in the Prussian regional church , primarily through diplomatic channels. In 1844 he retired.
Rulemann Friedrich Eylert died on February 3, 1852.

Eylert's book On the Value and Effect of the Liturgy and Agende intended for the Evangelical Church in the Prussian states (Potsdam 1830) relates to the dispute over the agendas .
Most famous among Eylert's works were his character traits and historical fragments from the life of the King of Prussia, Friedrich Wilhelm III. (Berlin, 3 vols .; Magdeburg 1842-, 3 vols. Digitized version ), although the royal speeches communicated therein become almost unrecognizable under the episcopal varnish.
