Around Langenau
Around Langenau was a road bike race in the GDR , which was held from 1960 by the German Cycling Association of the GDR (DRSV). The start and finish of the race was Langenau , a district of Brand-Erbisdorf in Saxony .

history
The race was included in the DRSV calendar for the first time in 1960. From 1961 it had the character of a selection race of the GDR performance class to form the national team. In 1972 the 6th stage of the GDR tour took place on the course of the race. Starting in 1983, Rund um Langenau was held as part of a stage trip . It took place in the early years in May and later in July and was often used as a preparatory race for the UCI Road World Championships .
