Rupert M. Scheule

Rupert Maria Scheule (born November 2, 1969 in Ottobeuren ) is a German Roman Catholic theologian who teaches as a full professor of moral theology at the University of Regensburg . Scheule also works as a deacon in the Catholic parish Heilig-Kreuz-Lütter.

Life

Scheule studied Catholic theology, history and German (briefly also human medicine) at the Julius Maximilians University of Würzburg as well as at the University of Augsburg and the University of Vienna . During this time he was a fellow of the Cusanuswerk . From 1998 to 2002 Scheule worked as a research assistant for Christian social ethics at the University of Augsburg and then headed the DFG project “Decision-making in Christian ethics” until 2005 . During this time he also took on teaching positions at the Catholic University of Eichstätt-Ingolstadt .

This was followed by four years as a research assistant, academic advisor and senior advisor at the chair for moral theology at the University of Augsburg, before he was appointed professor for philosophy / ethics / educational science at the Dortmund University of Applied Sciences in 2009 . In 2010 Scheule became a full professor for moral theology and Christian social sciences at the Fulda Theological Faculty . He also taught at the Catholic Theological Seminar of the Philipps University in Marburg . In 2012, the Grand Chancellor of the Fulda Theological Faculty appointed him to lead this seminar. In the same year he became an advisor to Commission XI (Marriage and Family) of the German Bishops' Conference . Scheule changed to the chair for moral theology at the University of Regensburg in 2017.
