Rupert Seidl (actor)
Rupert J. Seidl (born August 24, 1955 in Bonn ) is a German film and theater actor . He became known to a wider audience as the protagonist Xaver of the Bavarian cult film Xaver and his extraterrestrial friend .
Life
Seidl studied from 1977 to 1980 at the State University for Music and Performing Arts in Stuttgart . He then worked for six years at the Schauspielhaus Bochum . After Claus Peymann's directorship in Bochum ended, he did not go to the Burgtheater in Vienna , but founded together with some ex-Peymann mimes (including Crescentia Dünßer , Franz Xaver Zach, Otto Kukla ) and the musicians Eckard Koltermann and Ralf Kaupenjohann the independent theater group Sezession in Bochum, whose performances aroused the interest of the commission, which was looking for a successor to the outgoing artistic director Holk Freytag at the Moers Castle Theater . In 1988, Seidl first moved to the Moers Castle Theater as an actor , and from 1990 to 1999 he was also director there. He has been a member of the Theater an der Ruhr ensemble since 1999 .
