Russula subsect. Maculatinae is a subsection of the fungus - genus Russula ( russulas ) provided within the section Insidiosinae stands.
features
All types of subsections taste hot. The species are larger and firmer than those in the sister taxon Cupreinae . The colors are more or less dominant reddish (red, orange, pink) and only rarely carmine red or wine red. Purple, green or brown tones do not occur. The stem can sometimes be tinged with red. The brim of the hat is always smooth, except for very old specimens. The meat of the hat tends to brown or turns rusty brown.
The Pileocystiden are weakly septate and always sagged. The hyphae end cells are also usually more or less septate or they have thickened ends or are club-shaped, without protrusions or branches. The spores are usually burr and more or less reticulate.
The type species is Russula maculata , the spotted blubber .
Systematics
The Maculatinae sub- section of Bon corresponds to Romagnesi's eponymous section, which is part of the Insidiosula sub-genus . The sister taxon is the Urentinae subsection , which corresponds to Bons Cupreinae .
