Rut Plouda engraver

Rut Plouda engraver (* 18th August 1948 in Tarasp ; pronunciation [ ru: t 'plou̯dɐ ]) is a Grison Roman poetry and prose writer and writes in the Lower Engadine idiom Vallader .

Live and act

Rut Plouda was born on August 18, 1948 in Tarasp as the third of four teacher's daughters. After completing compulsory schooling, she attended the teachers' seminar in Chur . Then she worked as a teacher in Savognin (1971/1972) and Ftan (since 1972). There she met her future husband and ran a farm with him. She had three children, two daughters and a disabled boy.

Rut Plouda wrote her first poems when she was in secondary school. Writing had been her dream from a young age. At first she cautiously published her texts under a pseudonym.

Her own son Andris (1977–1996), who had Down's syndrome and died as a young adult, was the trigger and basis for her story As if nothing was . The book consists of a good forty prose sections that fit together and describe the relationship between a mother and her son Joannes. In the following excerpt, as in the rest of the text, the Inn is used as a metaphor for transience:

“E cagiò l'En cun si'aua e l'uffant chi cuorra sur la punt da lain cuernada via e's ferma pro ün dals cuccars. E la punt as metta planin in movimaint, lura adüna plü svelt e va eir ella cull'aua da l'En vers la storta gronda, e davo la storta, là es il mar. Inchün cloma, l'uffant as volva, la punt as ferma e tuorna subit a lö. Be l'En va inavant. "

“And below the Inn with its water, and the child who runs over the covered wooden bridge and stops in front of one of the peepholes. Rut Plouda wrote repeatedly for Radio Rumantsch and was active as a teaching material author.

Rut Plouda's poem Mias s-charpas (German My Shoes ) was set to music by the songwriter Corin Curschellas and the rock group Ils Bulais . The poem Fanzögnas was set to music by the German-speaking group TrioFalsa .

Rut Plouda is in literary exchange with the German author Angelika Overath , who lives in nearby Sent . She is u. a. Member of the Uniun da scripturas e scripturs rumantschs .
