Ruth Kruysse-Morof

Ruth Kruysse-Morof (born May 11, 1942 in Pfäffikon , † April 9, 1992 in Solothurn , resident in Aarau ) was a Swiss textile artist and painter .

Ruth Kruysse was the daughter of a master plumber and trained as a textile draftswoman at the Zurich School of Applied Arts from 1960 to 1964 . There she attended, among other things, the fashion class for experimental design by Leo Leuppi .

After completing her studies, Ruth Kruysse was at the École nationale supérieure des arts décoratifs in Paris and worked as a fabric designer for the Paapje company in Voorschoten near The Hague in 1965/1966 .

In 1967 she married the geologist Han Kruysse, with whom she moved to Turkey for professional reasons . The couple had two children. In 1970 the family moved to Guildford . From 1971 they lived in various places in Switzerland, most recently in Solothurn .

Ruth Kruysse exhibited her works in various galleries as well as in the Solothurn Art Museum and the Aargauer Kunsthaus . In 1990 she received the Solothurn Cantonal Works Prize. She found her final resting place in the St. Katharinen Friedhof in Solothurn.
