Ruth Meyer (born August 22, 1965 in Theley ) is a CDU politician. From 2012 to 2020 she was a member of the Saarland state parliament . Since May 1st, 2020 she has been director of the State Media Authority Saarland .

Ruth Meyer became 1984 on Cusanus-Gymnasium St. Wendel her High School and then studied education and political science and social psychology at the University of Saarland . She completed her studies with a Magister Artium . At the same time, she studied speech science and speech training until 1991. She then worked as a freelance communication trainer until 1994 and then became the women's representative for the St. Wendel district . From 2001 to 2012 she was head of the main office there . Meyer joined the CDU and the Women's Union in 2001 . In the state elections in 2012, she was elected to the state parliament of Saarland. She was a member of the Science, Research and Technology, Education, Culture and Media, and Home Affairs and Sports committees. In addition, she was domestic and local policy spokeswoman for the CDU parliamentary group.
