Ruth Stachorra

Ruth Stachorra (born September 10, 1938 in Chemnitz ; † July 3, 2014 in Leipzig ) was a German politician ( SPD ) and a member of the Saxon state parliament from 1994 to 1999 .

Life

Ruth Stachorra graduated from high school in 1956 in Chemnitz, then Karl-Marx-Stadt. After completing her studies, she passed a university degree with state examinations in mathematics and physics (pedagogy). From 1961 to 1967 she worked as a teacher for mathematics and physics, most recently at EOS Richard-Wagner in Leipzig. Between 1970 and 1977 Stachorra worked as a lecturer for mathematics, computer and youth literature at Teubner Verlag . From 1977 to 1990 she worked as a system programmer and head of project management at the Leipzig Institute for Energy . Since October 1990, she has been the city of Leipzig's first equal opportunities officer to head the department for gender equality and has been a lecturer in local law at the city's study institute.

Ruth Stachorra was married and had three children. She died after a long period of cancer at the age of 75 in July 2014 in Leipzig.

politics

Ruth Stachorra joined the SDP in November 1989 . In January 1990 she was a founding member of the Leipzig AsF . From January 1990 to 1991 she was a member of the Leipzig district board of the SDP and, after its unification, the SPD. From February 1990 until the last GDR local elections on May 6, 1990, Stachorra sat at the round table of the city of Leipzig.

In 1991 and 1992 she was a member of the board of the SPD sub-district of Leipzig and the state committee, and since 1992 a member of the state committee of the SPD in Saxony.

In October 1994 Ruth Stachorra entered the 2nd Saxon State Parliament via the state list of the SPD Saxony , to which she was a member for an electoral period until 1999. There she was a member of the Committee for Housing, Building and Transport.
