Ruth Weckenmann

Ruth Weckenmann (born June 3, 1959 in Stuttgart ) is a politician of the SPD and was a member of the state parliament of Baden-Württemberg from 2001 to 2006 .

Life

Weckenmann graduated from high school in Stuttgart . She then studied at the University of Konstanz Administrative Sciences . There she received a scholarship from the Hans Böckler Foundation . From 1988 to 1998 she was employed by the DGB , most recently as deputy state chairwoman of Baden-Württemberg, responsible for the areas of labor market, women's and family policy, old-age security issues and media policy. After the birth of her son, she attended the leadership academy of the state of Baden-Württemberg . In her final project she developed proposals for the division of management positions in the state administration. Until 2001 she worked at the state employment office in Baden-Württemberg as head of the department for labor market and women's policy. After her membership in the state parliament, she works as the head of the Equal Opportunities Unit in the labor market at the Baden-Württemberg regional directorate of the Federal Employment Agency .

Ruth Weckenmann is married.

Political career

In 1988 she joined the SPD. From 1995 to 1999 she was a member of the SPD state executive committee and the SPD presidium in Baden-Württemberg. In 2001 she was elected to the state parliament, she had a seat on the economic committee and one on the standing committee. She was employment policy spokeswoman for the SPD parliamentary group. In the economic policy group working group , she was responsible for employment policy . In the SPD parliamentary group for law and constitution, she was responsible for debt counseling and media policy . In the state elections in 2006 , she failed to make it into parliament.

Volunteering

She works on a voluntary basis as a broadcasting adviser at SWR , as chairman of the radio committee, as a board member of the Zeit für Menschen Foundation ( Samariterstiftung ), as a board member of the Evangelical Home Foundation , as a board member of AWO Stuttgart, and as a member of the Bad Boll board of trustees .
