Ruth Weyher

Ruth Ellen Weyher (born May 28, 1901 in Neumark , West Prussia , † January 27, 1983 in Munich ) was a German silent film actress.

Life

The daughter of the Chief Justice Inspector Paul Ferdinand Weyher and his wife Lätitia Theone geb. Schulze grew up in Danzig until she moved to Halle with her parents and brother in 1914 . At the age of 16 she came to Berlin and attended the drama school of the Deutsches Theater from April 1919 to July 1920 .

Ruth Weyher received her first stage engagement in Munich. In 1919 she got her first film role. She played adventurous and devoted women in numerous entertainment films. Occasionally she received leading roles such as the title role in the operetta film Die chaste Susanne in 1926 .

In 1928 she founded her own film production company, Ruth Weyher-Film GmbH. After a single film, What's up with Nanette with her in the title role, she stopped working as a producer. On July 2, 1932, she married the Munich publisher and book printer owner Dr. Hans Geiselberger and ended her career.
