Ryan Wachendorfer (born February 3, 1996 in Denver ) is an American snowboarder . He starts in the freestyle disciplines.

Career

Wachendorfer has been taking part in the Ticket to Ride World Snowboard Tour competitions since 2010 . He achieved his first podium finish in January 2011 with third place in slopestyle at the Burton European Junior Open in Laax . At the Snowboard Junior World Championships 2013 in Erzurum , he was eighth in the halfpipe and seventh in slopestyle. He made his debut in the Snowboard World Cup in Ruka in December 2013 and finished 14th in the halfpipe. At the 2014 Junior Snowboarding World Championships in Chiesa in Valmalenco , he took fifth place in the halfpipe. The following year he came 37th in the halfpipe at the 2015 Snowboard World Championships on Kreischberg . In the 2015/16 season he won the US Revolution Tour in Mammoth and the national championships in Copper Mountain and also finished third in the halfpipe of the US Revolution Tour in Copper Mountain . In February 2017 he achieved his first podium finish in the World Cup with second place in the halfpipe at the US Grand Prix and World Cup in Mammoth . At the Snowboard World Championships 2017 in Sierra Nevada , he came ninth. In April 2017 he became the American halfpipe champion and ninth at the Winter X Games 2020 in Aspen .
