Sören Cratz has been a well-known coach in Sweden since the 2001 championship with Hammarby IF . The popular Stockholm workers' club celebrated the championship in the Fotbollsallsvenskan for the first time after 38 years of first division football under Cratz . In the same year, the coach was voted Trainer of the Year by the TV station SVT . In addition, he was named “Sports Coach of the Year” by the press, and the national referee association even voted him Coach of the Year. The city of Stockholm awarded him “Stockholm's of the Month”. In the following season, however, he was dismissed by the club with the strange reason "that he would play football that was too unattractive ...". He was then hired by Helsingborgs IF in southern Sweden . However, when he was willingly celebrated by the Stockholm fans in a game against Hammarby, he was immediately fired. In the following season he took over Mjällby AIF in the third division and led them to the Superettan in 2004 . In 2005 he was released in the middle of the relegation battle. For Cratz it went back to League 3, from which he should lead Västerås SK, who had been relegated under chaotic circumstances, back to higher regions. But here, too, Sören Cratz was hapless and was dismissed in the 2007 season, with the club only in the middle of the table.
