Søren Hald Møller

Søren Hald Møller (born January 25, 1960 in Copenhagen ) is a Danish administrative officer who was the Imperial Ombudsman and High Commissioner of Denmark in Greenland between 2005 and 2011 . He was the fifth to hold this post.

Life

After attending school, Møller began studying social sciences at Aalborg University , graduating in 1984 as candidatus philosophiæ (cand. Phil.) And then working as a high school teacher at high schools in Frederikshavn and Aars . He began his career in 1986 as a civil servant in the Government of Greenland (Grønlands Hjemmestyre) and was initially an employee of the Public Procurement Office until 1987 and then from 1987 to 1992 office manager of the economic authority of the government. He then acted as deputy head from 1992 to 1995 and most recently as head of department of the cabinet secretariat before briefly working in the private sector as managing director of KNI Holding A / S between 1995 and 1996 . In 1997 he returned to the public service and was head of the environmental and nature authority of the Reich administration until 1999 and then, from 1999 to 2002, managing director of the Reich administration and the cabinet secretariat. He then acted between 2002 and 2005 as project and office manager of the mining authority within the Reich administration.

On April 1, 2005, Møller became the successor of Peter Lauritzen Reichsombudsmann and High Commissioner of Denmark in Greenland . In this function, he was the highest representative and head of the Danish imperial administration in Greenland according to the law on self-government in largely autonomous Greenland until his replacement by Mikaela Engell on February 1, 2011 . In 2007 he was awarded the Knight's Cross of the Dannebrogden for his services . During his term of office, a referendum took place on November 25, 2008, with the replacement of the Statute of Autonomy, which had been in force since 1979, with a self-governing order (Grønlands Selvstyre) , which was implemented on June 21, 2009. After finishing his work as Reich ombudsman and High Commissioner, Møller acted as administrative director of Kommuneqarfik Sermersooq between 2011 and 2013 and then from 2013 to 2015 as head of the environmental protection agency for natural resources. On June 12, 2015, he succeeded Svend Hardenberg as Prime Minister's office manager.
