history
The town of Aars was built in the 13th century around the church, which was built from granite between 1200 and 1250 and houses the rune stone DR131 with the inscription: “Asser placed this stone after Valtóki, his master. The stone proclaims that it will stand here a long time; at Valtóki's grave ”. With the construction of the train station around 1900, the village gained in importance, so that the church had to be expanded between 1921 and 1922.
