Aggersund is a Danish town with 309 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2020) in western Himmerland . The village has been part of the Vesthimmerlands Municipality in the Nordjylland region since the 2007 municipal reform . Before that she was part of the Løgstør municipality in the North Jutland department .
Aggersund is about 4 km northeast of Løgstør and about 40 km west of Aalborg . Denmark's largest Viking castle, Aggersborg, is around 2.5 km southwest .
The Aggersund Bridge, inaugurated in 1942, between the northern and southern parts of the village is located at the narrowest point of the sound of the same name , which connects the eastern and western parts of the Limfjord . The bridge replaced the ferry traffic that had existed until then.
