South Atambua ( Indonesian Atambua Selatan ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the administrative district of Belu (province of East Nusa Tenggara ) on the island of Timor .

geography

Südatambua bordered to the east by Atambua and Osttasifeto ( Tasifeto Timur ), on the southwest by Westtasifeto ( Tasifeto Barat ), on the west by Kakuluk Mesak and to the north by Westatambua ( Atambua Barat ).

The district of South Atambua is divided into the Desas Fatukbot (7,322 inhabitants 2010), Lidak (4,845), Manuaman (7,141) and Rinbesi (3,156).

The administrative seat is Asuulun .

Residents

In 2010 there were 22,464 people in South Atambua. The majority of them belong to the northern Tetum ethnic group and the majority are of the Catholic faith .
