East Tasifeto ( Indonesian Tasifeto Timur ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the administrative district of Belu (province of East Nusa Tenggara ) on the island of Timor .
geography
East Tasifeto is in the center of the Belu Governorate. In the north, East Tasifeto extends to the Sawu Sea . In the west are the districts of Kakuluk Mesak , Atambua and West Tasifeto ( Tasifeto Barat ), in the east Lasiolat , Lamaknen and Südlamaknen ( Lamaknen Selatan ). East Tasifeto borders the neighboring state of East Timor in the north and south . There is an official border crossing near the coast to the East Timorese administrative office of Balibo ( municipality of Bobonaro ).
Lasiolat used to be part of East Tasifeto.
The district of East Tasifeto is divided into the Desas Fatuba'a (1,244 inhabitants 2010), Dafala (1,383), Takirin (871), Manleten (7,334), Umaklaran (1,544), Tulakadi (1,043), Silawan (3,313), Sadi (1,316 ), Sarabau (661), Bauho (610), Halimodok (1,063) and Tialai (550).
The administrative seat is Vedomu in Desa Manleten.
The 744 infantry battalion is stationed in the hamlet of Tofi (Desa Vedomu) .
Residents
In 2010 there were 20,932 people in East Tasifeto. The majority of them belong to the northern Tetum ethnic group and the majority are of the Catholic faith .
