West Tasifeto ( Indonesian Tasifeto Barat ) is an Indonesian district ( Kecamatan ) in the administrative district of Belu (province of East Nusa Tenggara ) on the island of Timor .

geography

West Tasifeto is located in the southwest of the Belu government district. To the south are the districts of Rai Manuk and Nanaet Dubesi , to the north are Kakuluk Mesak , South Atambua ( Atambua Selatan ) and East Tasifeto ( Tasifeto Timur ). In the west, West Tasifeto borders on the administrative district of North Central Timor ( Timor Tengah Utara ), in the east on the neighboring state of East Timor with its administrative office Fatumean (municipality of Cova Lima ). Nanaet Dubesi was formerly part of western Tasifeto.

The district of West Tasifeto is divided into Desas Rinbesihat (1,791 inhabitants 2010), Naitimu (4,447), Lawalutolus (1,065), Lookeu (469), Derok Faturene (1,188), Bakustulama (3,271), Naekasa (6,548) and Tukuneno (3,583) .

The administrative seat is in Kimbana in Desa Naekasa.

Residents

In 2010 there were 22,362 people in West Tasifeto. The majority of them belong to the northern Tetum ethnic group and the majority are of the Catholic faith .
