The Südperd is a cape in the southeast of Rügen . It is located in the town of Thiessow in the Mönchgut community and is part of the Southeast Rügen Biosphere Reserve and the Mönchgut nature reserve .

At a height of up to 35.6  m above sea level. NHN rises the Südperd with the Lotsenberg . On top of it is the 34 m high pilot tower . The Baltic Sea connects to the east and south of the cape and forms the entrance to the Greifswalder Bodden south of the cape . Thiessow is located in the northwest. The coastline runs in a northerly direction with the approximately 5 km long east beach to Lobbe , in the south-west the shorter south beach with the end hook .

As a sub-area Südperd (No. 189a), the area with an area of ​​around 27 hectares belongs to the Mönchgut nature reserve and, as protection zone II, belongs to the biosphere reserve.

A former lifeboat is named after the cape .
