The S-Bahn Antwerp ( Dutch S-trein Antwerpen ) is the S-Bahn system of the Belgian city of Antwerp . The operation was created on September 3, 2018 from previous L-Zug connections that received line numbers and were advertised more.
One line, the S1, is also part of the Brussels S-Bahn ; the S32 line crosses the Dutch border and runs to Roosendaal . On weekends, the S34 is replaced by an extension of the S53 line of the Gent S-Bahn .

The line network consists of four lines (as of September 3, 2018) (the S53 is only counted as part of the Gent S-Bahn, even if it runs to Antwerp on weekends):

vehicles
The Antwerp S-Bahn (including the S53) is operated exclusively with the Siemens Desiro multiple units of the AM / MS 08 series . The only exception is the S32 shuttle train between Essen and Roosendaal. These are served by trains from the AM / MS 75 series , as these are the only ones that are approved for the Dutch railway network.
