The S-Bahn Liège ( French Train S Liège , Dutch S-trein Luik ) is the S-Bahn system of the Belgian city of Liège . The operation was created on September 3, 2018 from previous L-Zug connections that received line numbers and were advertised more.

In preparation for the S-Bahn, passenger traffic on route 125A between Liège and Flémalle- Haute was reactivated on June 10, 2018 , with two new stations in Ougrée and Seraing . A new train station was also opened in Chaudfontaine on September 3, 2018 . Ultimately, the Palais and Jonfosse stations were renamed Saint-Lambert and Carré .

The S43 line runs cross-border to Maastricht in the Netherlands and runs there on behalf of the Dutch province of Limburg . It is planned to replace the S43 between Maastricht station and Liège-Guillemins station with the three-country train LIMAX .

Lines S41, S42 and S44 are operated with older electric multiple units of the type AM / MS 62-79 , on lines S43 and some trips of the S44 those of the series AM / MS 80 are added. The newer Siemens-Desiro multiple units of the AM / MS 08 series run on individual former P-train connections ( amplifier train ) on the S44 line to and from Landen .
