The SAC Monte Rosa is a Sion section of the Swiss Alpine Club and with 7449 members (as of January 2020) one of the largest sections of the Swiss Alpine Club . It is one of the largest sports clubs in Switzerland , was founded on October 4th, 1865 and is headquartered in Sion.

Huts

The Monte Rosa section operates the laggin bivouac ( bivouac box ) and four SAC huts , these offer simple accommodation for mountaineers, climbers, hikers, nature lovers and, increasingly, for families with children and mountain bikers.
