SCAT Airlines (officially Aircompany SCAT ) is a Kazakh airline based in Shymkent and based at Shymkent Airport .
Destinations
SCAT Airlines predominantly connects major cities within Kazakhstan. The international connections are mainly in Central Asia and Eastern Europe .
Until December 8, 2016, SCAT Airlines was on the list of operating bans for the airspace of the European Union .
In 2018, the European airspace restrictions for SCAT Airlines were lifted.

In November 2017, the airline signed a firm contract for the purchase of six aircraft of the latest generation Boeing 737 MAX 8 with the American company Boeing .
On March 29, 2018, the first Boeing 737 MAX 8 was delivered to SCAT Airlines . It is the first machine of its type in the post-Soviet countries.
Incidents
- On 29 January 2013, all 16 passengers and five crew members were a Bombardier CRJ200 on the SCAT Flight 760 killed after the pilot the approach to the airport Almaty had to stop due to lack of ground visibility and the machine during the go-around of unknown causes in a descent passed over.
- On June 16, 2015, the front fuselage of a burned Boeing 737-300 on the airport Aktau . The extinguishing work eliminated the fire; it was triggered by an exploding oxygen cylinder. There were no injuries as all passengers were able to leave the aircraft beforehand.
