SR Ferien Open Air St. Wendel

The SR Ferien Open Air St. Wendel is a free open-air festival that has been taking place in St. Wendel , Saarland since 2018 . It is the successor to the Saarbrücken Halberg Open Air and is aimed at young people.

history

Since the Saarländischer Rundfunk had to implement cost-cutting measures, it canceled the continuation of the Halberg Open Air in 2017 , which cost 350,000 euros annually. The town of St. Wendel, which has a tried and tested open-air area with the old Bosenbach Stadium, was awarded the contract to continue the concept. The free entry and the alcohol ban will be retained, the SR will remain as artistic director. After the first event on June 22, 2018 with 10,000 visitors, it was decided to continue.
