The Breslauer Football Club 1906 e. V. (short name Breslauer FV 06) was a football club from Breslau , Silesia . The football club was one of the most successful in Wroclaw. Different sports fields or stadiums served as the venue. From 1912 to 1920 they played first on the Gandau parade ground and later in the Pöpelwitz oak park. In autumn 1920, the 6,000-seat stadium was opened at the Oswitzer Friedhöfe.
history
On June 6, 1906, the club was founded by dissatisfied members of the TV Vorwärts Breslau as "Sportclub Pfeil Breslau" . However, the first football team initially played in lower-class leagues. By winning the B-Class in 1911/12 , he was promoted to the A-Class (at that time one of the many top leagues in Germany). In July 1913, some members of SV Corso 1905 Breslau merged to form the Breslauer FV 06. The relegation in the season was only just barely successful: The club won the decider for non-relegation against the Breslau SVgg 6-3 after extra time. In the following years, the BFV was able to establish itself in the top division. Nevertheless, the qualification for the finals for the southeast German championship did not succeed.
Another merger produced a positive effect: in 1925 the club merged with the sports club Stern 1920 e. V. to the Breslauer FV 06-Stern and qualified in 1927 for the Southeast German finals. You almost became a Southeast German soccer champion, but the BFVer failed in the playoff for the championship with 0: 5 against the United Breslauer Sportfreunde. Nevertheless, they were qualified for the German championship through the runner-up , but failed in the round of 16 at VfB Leipzig . Also in the next seasons, the Breslauer FV often took part in the Silesian Championship, but the renewed qualification for the German championship no longer succeeded. From 1930 the club around national player Richard Hanke took on the old club name "Breslauer FV 06" without dissolving the merger. In 1933 the blue-whites were among the founding members of the Gauliga Schlesien , in which they played continuously from 1933 to 1945 with only moderate success. The high point of the Gauliga time was the runner-up in 1940, when the Breslauer FV 06 lost in the finals for the Silesian Gaume Championship with 2: 5 and 1: 9 against forward lawn sport Gleiwitz .
With the end of the Second World War , the association ceased to exist.
