The sports club 1898 Triberg is a sports club from Triberg in the Black Forest . He is known for his wrestling team , which has been competing in the Bundesliga since 2013 . The club is affiliated with the South Baden Wrestling Association (SBRV).
Under the coach Reiner Schilling , SV Triberg made promotion to the Bundesliga back in the 1970s, from which they were soon relegated.
Before being promoted to the Baden-Württemberg regional league in 2010, SV Triberg competed in the association or major league for years. In the top league season 2009/10 the Tribergs were sovereign champions with 36: 0 points in front of the second team of RG Hausen-Zell . In the following season Triberg was again champion in the third-class regional league. After a total of 18 days of fighting, thanks to a better comparison (40:36) against the WKG Weitenau-Wieslet, the team rose directly to the 2nd Bundesliga South. In the southern season of the 2nd Bundesliga South 2011, the club again fought for the championship. At the end of the season Triberg and KSV Schriesheim both had 28: 8 points, in a direct comparison it was 37:37 between the two teams. The decisive factor was the number of individual fights won in the direct duels. Here SV Triberg led 11: 9, which meant that the club qualified for the 1st Bundesliga.
In the first season of the first division, SV Triberg took sixth place in the southern season among eight teams. There were two qualifying fights for the quarter-finals against the third-placed team in the northern relay, RWG Mömbris-Königshofen , which Triberg lost at 12:26 and 10:28. In 2013 Triberg came third in the southern season behind SV Germania Weingarten and ASV Nendingen . In the quarter-finals, the club failed at the reigning German champions ASV Mainz 1888 after an 18:18 and a 10:27.
The club carries out the home fights in the Jahn sports hall in the Triberger Schulstrasse.
