Viktoria Goch (officially: Sportverein Viktoria Goch 1912 eV ) is a sports club from Goch in North Rhine-Westphalia . The club maintains the football (men and youth), athletics and carnival departments. The first men's team currently plays in the district league. The club colors are red and black.

history

On June 28, 1912, FC Viktoria Goch was initially launched as a pure football club. Just one year later, after the establishment of an athletics department, the name was changed to “Sportverein Viktoria eV”.

The first soccer team played from 1982 to 1987 in the then third-class amateur league in North Rhine . In 1986 Viktoria Goch won the Niederrhein Cup and reached the first main round in the DFB Cup 1986/87 as the association cup winner , where they lost 3-0 to FC Homburg in front of 3,000 spectators.

The club plays its home games in the Hubert Houben Stadium . In addition, the sports facility on Marienwasserstraße has a grass pitch, an ash pitch and an artificial turf pitch.

basketball

In 1977 a basketball department was established. Two years later they teamed up with the basketball players from TV Kalkar and formed a syndicate that lasted only two years. The TV Kalkar resigned from the WBV and all players joined the Viktoria. In 1986 the entire department changed to TV Goch. In total, the department achieved five district championships (women 1985, mA youth 1984, wB youth 1981-1983) and seven cup successes (women 1985 and 1986, mA 1984, mC 1983, wA 1984, wB 1983 and 1985).
