Kremmeldorf is a district of the municipality of Memmelsdorf with 263 inhabitants in the Upper Franconian district of Bamberg .

history

The church village was mentioned for the first time in 1312. Gut Cremelnorf was an estate that belonged to Giech . It was sold again and again along with other places. In 1390 the Scheßlitzer land came to the diocese of Bamberg .

In 1809 Kremmeldorf had 30 houses. After secularization , three of the benefices of St. Mathias, two of the later Bürgerspital Bamberg and one of the parish of Memmelsdorf fell to. The rest was lent to the royal rent office in Scheßlitz .

The volunteer fire brigade , which still exists today, was launched in 1885 and the schoolhouse was consecrated on October 16, 1878, but the school was later closed.

After World War II , the population increased dramatically as refugees were allocated. On January 1, 1972, the previously independent place, together with Schmerldorf in the town of Memmelsdorf incorporated .
