history

Chapel "Our Lady of Sorrows"

The place was mentioned for the first time in 1109. In the past the place was also called Medemsdorf or Medimistorf.

The village consisted mainly of Domdechant fiefdom , less of St. Jakob fiefdom.

At the beginning of the 16th century there were 18 hearths (as was counted earlier) that were subject to the cathedral dean. This changed with the secularization at the beginning of the 18th century.

After the secularization in Bavaria there were 20 houses in Meedensdorf. Two fell to the municipality of Memmelsdorf , the others were leasable to the royal rent office Bamberg 1.
