Saša Farič (born July 19, 1984 in Domžale ) is a Slovenian freestyle skier . She specializes in the discipline of ski cross .

biography

Farič was an alpine ski racer at the beginning of her sports career . But she could not achieve any significant success, which is why she switched to ski cross. She made her debut in the Freestyle World Cup on November 23, 2003 in Saas-Fee , where she immediately won the race at her premiere. Subsequently, however, Farič stated that it was difficult to confirm this surprise victory, even if she achieved several top 10 placements. At the 2007 World Championships in Madonna di Campiglio , she finished 5th.

It was not until February 2, 2008 that Farič achieved a World Cup podium again when she was second in Deer Valley . About a month later, on March 6, 2008, she won in Grindelwald . At the end of the season she was second in the discipline classification behind the French Ophélie David . By far the best result of the 2008/09 season was 4th place at the 2009 World Cup in Inawashiro , plus a third place at the Winter X Games . In the winter of 2009/10, Farič stood on the podium once, and at the 2010 Winter Olympics she finished 14th.
