Sašo Rajsar (born August 18, 1988 in Jesenice , SR Slovenia ) is a Slovenian - Croatian ice hockey player who has been under contract with HK Olimpija Ljubljana in the Alps Hockey League since January 2018 .
Career
Sašo Rajsar began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the youth department of the HK Jesenice , the HD mladi Jesenice , for which he was active in the Slovenian junior league from 2004 to 2007. At the same time, he played for the first team of the HK HIT Casino Kranjska Gora and the Jesenices in the Slovenian ice hockey league . For the 2007/08 season, the defender moved to the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen for the Odense Bulldogs . There he stayed in 15 games without a point and penalty, where he was mainly used for Odense's junior team in the Danish U20 junior league and the second team in the Danish second division. In the Danish U20 junior league he was the top scorer and top scorer of all players.
For the following season , the left shooter returned to his homeland, where he played for the HD mladi Jesenice in the Slovenian ice hockey league. At the same time, he was twice in the Austrian ice hockey league , in which HK Jesenice was included in 2006. For the 2009/10 season Rajsar was accepted by the ÖEHL newcomer KHL Medveščak Zagreb , where he did not fall under the quota of foreigners due to his dual citizenship. After he still had a regular place in his first year in Zagreb and had scored two goals and two assists in a total of 65 games, he was increasingly used for Medveščak's cooperation partner, Team Zagreb , in the Slohokej League in the 2010/11 season .
In January 2011 Rajsar returned to the Odense Bulldogs in the Danish AL-Bank Ligaen. By the end of the season he had scored one goal in ten games for the team and provided three assists. In August he rejoined the KHL Medveščak Zagreb from the ÖEHL and was used for this both in the ÖEHL and in the Croatian ice hockey league. After a year at HK Slavija Ljubljana from the Inter-National League , he moved to HDD Jesenice . For the successor club of HK Jesenice he played in the INL, the Alps Hockey League and the Slovenian ice hockey league until 2017 . In 2015 and 2017 he became Slovenian champion with Jesenice before returning to Medveščak in August 2017.
In January 2018 he moved to HK Olimpija Ljubljana in the Alps Hockey League .
International
For Slovenia, Rajsar took part in the junior division of the U18 World Championships in Division I 2006 and the U20 World Championships in Division I in 2007 and 2008 .
