Sabine Eichenberger
Sabine Eichenberger (born September 25, 1968 ) is a Swiss canoeist in Brugg in the canton of Aargau and the most successful canoeist in Switzerland to date.
Career
Sabine Eichenberger is a member of the Brugg Canoe Club and also belongs to the Dragon Boat Club in Basel. Since the 1990s she has successfully participated in many international competitions in several disciplines of kayak and canoe competition . For Swiss Canoe , the Swiss Canoe Association founded in Brugg in 1925 , she mainly competes in single kayaks and single canoe races in the white water run and in the canoe marathon .
She qualified with a four-man kayak for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta , where she won the silver medal in the 500 meter run with Ingrid Haralamow , Daniela Baumer and Gabi Müller .
Eichenberger achieved first place several times in the overall canoe world cup (1998, 1999, 2007, 2012 and 2014) and second place three times (2004, 2008 and 2016). In 2015 she achieved the overall victory of the world series in the canoe marathon.
At the Swiss Canoe Championships, Sabine Eichenberger won the classic downhill twenty times, eight times in the sprint and six times in the team canoe category. She was Swiss champion seven times in the single kayak regatta and seven times in the two-person kayak.
In the Swiss Canoe Association, Sabine Eichenberger is a member of the Dragon Boat Commission . Professionally, she is employed by the community of Riniken , Canton Aargau.
