Sabine Klamroth (born August 10, 1933 in Halberstadt ) is a German lawyer and author.

Life

Sabine Klamroth is the daughter of Hans Georg Klamroth . She grew up with her siblings, u. a. the first German news anchor Wibke Bruhns , in Halberstadt. The family left their hometown after the Second World War in 1948 and moved to Braunschweig .

Sabine Klamroth studied languages and law in Heidelberg , Berlin and Munich . She worked as a lawyer in Heidelberg for a long time and, as editor-in-chief, was responsible for various legal journals, such as the “ Journal for the Entire Food Law ” and “Competition in Law and Practice”. During this time she also wrote several textbooks for legal laypeople.

In the early 1990s, Klamroth sold their Heidelberg law firm. She returned to Halberstadt and initially ran the Parkhotel Unter den Linden in the house built by her grandparents by Hermann Muthesius . She was also admitted to the bar until 2002.

For many years Klamroth dealt with the history of the Jews in Halberstadt, which was once a center of German Jewry. In 1995 she helped found the Moses Mendelssohn Academy there.

Klamroth's book "Only when the moon stands near Seckbachs", published in 2006 and received national attention - describes according to Christoph Dieckmann "pars pro toto" using Halberstadt as an example, how the "German-Jewish symbiosis" was destroyed during the Third Reich.

Honors

In 2008 Klamroth received the Halberstadt City Culture Prize.
