Sabine Toepfer-Kataw

Sabine Toepfer-Kataw (née Toepfer ; born November 14, 1963 in Berlin ) is a German politician ( CDU ). From December 2011 to December 2016 she was State Secretary in the Berlin Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection.

Life

Toepfer-Kataw was born in Berlin. From 1982 she studied law at the Free University of Berlin . In 1984 she worked at Disney World Florida. From 1986 to 1989 she attended the Federal College for Public Administration with a degree in administrative management (FH) . Until her appointment as State Secretary in 2011, she worked as a civil servant at the German Pension Insurance .

Sabine Toepfer-Kataw is married and has two children.

Toepfer-Kataw has been a member of the Berlin CDU since 1980. From 1997 to 2015 she was chairwoman of the CDU local association Britz, from 1999 to 2000 chairwoman of the CDU district association Neukölln and from 2009 to 2015 a member of the regional executive committee of the CDU Berlin .

Toepfer-Kataw had been a member of the Berlin House of Representatives since 1991, replacing the resigned Wolfgang Branoner . In the House of Representatives election in October 1995 she won a direct seat in the constituency of Neukölln 4 , and in the House of Representatives election in October 1999 she won a direct seat in the constituency of Neukölln 3 . At the end of the legislative period, she left the state parliament in 2001. In the House of Representatives she was a member of the Petitions Committee, the Committee on European Affairs and the Transport Committee. She was also deputy chairman of the CDU parliamentary group and a member of the presidium. In the House of Representatives election in September 2011 , she was a candidate for the direct mandate in the Neukölln 3 constituency.

On December 1st, 2011 Toepfer-Kataw was appointed State Secretary in the Senate Department for Justice and Consumer Protection. With the change of government in December 2016, she was put into temporary retirement.

For the election to the Berlin House of Representatives in 2016 , she ran as the top candidate of the Neukölln CDU and was mainly involved in integration policy, but did not win a mandate.
