All schools in Austria are invited to make safe internet use a topic in the respective action month and to carry out and present their own projects. The projects developed by the schools, e.g. Videos, school websites, workshops etc. can be submitted to Saferinternet.at - the best will be awarded.

The Safer Internet Day is intended to raise awareness about the safe use of digital media. Internet, mobile phones & Co. are important and useful in the daily lives of children and young people. The Safer Internet Day aims to show which skills are necessary for safe use of the Internet and how these can be taught to children and young people. Safer Internet Day supports children, young people, parents and teachers with practical information and tips that are easy to implement. Saferinternet.at tries to encourage different institutions, organisations, associations, educational establishments, companies, initiatives and private individuals to take part in Safer Internet Day at national, regional and local level.
