Safim is a small town in western Guinea-Bissau with 2705 inhabitants (as of 2009). It is the seat of the sector of the same name with an area of 175 km² and around 17,000 inhabitants.
The most important overland road Guinea-Bissau leads from the capital Bissau through Safim, where it branches off into the parts of continental Guinea-Bissau to the north on the one hand and to the east and south on the other. Street stalls shape the town center.

The sector includes 41 localities, mostly rural villages ( Tabancas ).
The city of Safim is divided into three districts ( Bairros ). The most important locations in the sector also include:
