geography

Saint-Quentin is at the junction of the connecting roads New Brunswick Route 17 and New Brunswick Route 180 . history

When the Restigouche and Western Railway Company built a railway line from Campbellton to Saint-Léonard in 1897 , settlers settled in the region and named the place Anderson Siding in 1910 . After the success of the Allies in the Battle of the Somme in World War I , in which Canadian troops were also involved at Saint-Quentin , the place was renamed Saint-Quentin in 1919 to commemorate this event . It was granted city rights in 1966.

A maple tree was chosen as the city's logo , as the livelihoods of most of the residents are linked to this type of plant throughout the year: maple sugar and maple syrup are extracted in spring, the timber industry flourishes in summer and winter and the colorful leaves are discolored in autumn an attraction for tourists during Indian Summer . Due to the considerable production of maple syrup, the city is also called Atlantic Maple Capital or The maple syrup capital of Atlantic Canada. (Maple syrup capital of the Canadian Atlantic Provinces).

Festivals

Festivals are held in the city every year , notably the Maple Capital of the Atlantic Festival , the Western Festival, and a Winter Carnival .
