Salem is a part of the municipality ( kommundel ) in the Swedish province of Stockholm County and the historical province of Södermanland . The place is the main town of the homonymous municipality and together with Rönninge forms the municipality of Salem, but is not a crime scene . The Swedish capital Stockholm is not far from Salem .
The place is known for the March of Salem ( Salemmarschen ), which has taken place annually since 2000 and was initiated by neo-Nazis as a result of the manslaughter of Daniel Wretström, the 17-year-old drummer of a right-wing rock band.
There is a medieval church in Salem , the Salems kyrka .
