The Salon5 is a private theater on Fünfhausgasse in the 15th district of Vienna , in which other art forms are taught in addition to the performing arts . The theater opened in January 2008. Since the 2014/15 season there has been a strategic partnership with the Nestroyhof Hamakom theater in the 2nd district, whose premises are also used for salon5 productions.

concept

Salon5 is the concept of a group of theater professionals around the director and author Anna Maria Krassnigg . The internationally active ensemble was based in Zurich and Luxembourg from 1998 to 2007 and during this time realized numerous theater productions, mainly in German. With Salon5, the ensemble is working continuously for the first time in one place - in Vienna - and also has Viennese artists as guests.

The concept of Salon5 is geared towards communication - the visitor should come to Salon5 immediately after work in order to be able to get in the mood for the piece in a loft-like atmosphere. Even after the performances, the audience should be invited to a “non-conventional exchange of content”.

game schedule

The house was opened on January 15, 2008 with a world premiere of the novel dramatization "Vincent-Torture the Artist" by Joey Goebel . On September 12, 2008, the stage version of the novel Ich und Kaminski by Daniel Kehlmann , directed by Anna Maria Krassnigg, premiered in Salon5 . In addition to the ensemble of Salon5, a number of well-known Austrian actors and actresses took part via video (including Erni Mangold , Miguel Herz-Kestranek , Markus Kupferblum , Ernst Stankovski and Otto Tausig ).
