Salvador Quizon

Salvador Quizon Quizon (born December 6, 1924 in Manila - † August 5, 2016 ) was a Filipino clergyman and Roman Catholic auxiliary bishop in Lipa .

Life

Salvador Q. Quizon studied philosophy at the St. Alphonsus di Liguori seminar in Lipa City (1942–1944) and theology at the UST seminar in Manila (1945–1949). He received on 12 March 1949 by Alfredo Verzosa y Florentin the priesthood for the Diocese of Lipa . He received his doctorate in canon law in 1954 at the Angelicum in Rome. After pastoral work he was professor at St. Francis Seminary from 1949 , its rector in 1956 and also active as a pastor.

Pope John Paul II appointed him auxiliary bishop in the Archdiocese of Lipa and titular bishop of Feradi Minus on June 9, 1979 . The Apostolic Nuncio in the Philippines, Archbishop Bruno Torpigliani , donated him episcopal ordination on August 22nd of the same year ; Co- consecrators were Ricardo Jamin Cardinal Vidal , Archbishop of Lipa, and Cirilo R. Almario , Bishop of Malolos . In 1985 he also became vicar general; he held numerous tasks in the episcopal conferences at national and diocesan level.

On April 6, 2002, Pope John Paul II accepted his age-related resignation.
