The Salzburg Palace Concerts are a series of concerts in Salzburg , which was founded in 1954 by Siegfried Hummer and which took place under different directors until 2016.

Since 2017, the concerts have been held under the new name Mirabell Palace Concerts in the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace .

The concerts have been held in the Marble Hall of Mirabell Palace since August 31, 1954 . Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart gave concerts in this hall with his father Leopold Mozart and his sister Nannerl .

Most of the programs takes the music of Mozart and his contemporaries Schubert , Haydn , Beethoven , and the romantic one. As part of the Salzburg Palace Concerts, the best Salzburg ensembles, including the Bartók Quartet , Salzburg Soloists, Twins Quartet and Chamber Orchestra, play together with internationally renowned soloists or young musicians as well as with members of the Vienna Philharmonic and the Berlin Philharmonic .

Daniel Barenboim , Igor Oistrach , Jeremy Menuhin, James Galway , Hermann Prey , Ingrid Haebler , Jörg Demus and many other world-famous artists have already performed at the Salzburg Palace Concerts. Gifted Salzburg and Austrian award winners receive special attention.

In 2007, 225 musicians from 38 nations performed in over 350 concerts.

In 2016, the Marble Hall in Mirabell Palace was re-assigned as an event location by the City of Salzburg. The Salzburger Konzertgesellschaft mbH, headquartered in the city of Salzburg and headed by Konstantin Hiller, won the tender. Since January 1, 2017, the chamber concerts have been taking place in the Marble Hall under the new name Schlosskonzerte Mirabell.
