Ingrid Haebler (born June 20, 1929 in Vienna ) is an Austrian pianist .

Life

Ingrid Haebler is the daughter of Baron Armin von Haebler and Baron Charlotte ( Sissy ) von Haebler , nee. von Schüch , whose marriage took place on June 8, 1925 in the Minoritenkirche in Vienna . The young Haebler family lived in the 3rd district of Vienna , at Reisnerstrasse 35. Armin von Haebler was born on January 24th, 1894 in Łódź and had made a name for himself in the Scheegattern Aktiengesellschaft glass and metal works ; he was later a member of the board of directors Become a public limited company for the glass industry in Linz .

Ingrid Haebler received her first piano lessons from her mother at the age of six. The first attempts at composition soon followed. At the beginning of the Second World War she and her family moved to Salzburg, where she made her concert debut at the age of eleven with a piece by Mozart and her own composition. She then studied with Paul Weingarten in Vienna and finally at the Salzburg Mozarteum. In 1950 she went to Geneva to study with Nikita Magaloff and to Paris with Marguerite Long .

Ingrid Haebler won second prize twice at the International Piano Competition in Geneva and in 1954 first prize at the ARD competition . Then her world career began. Ingrid Haebler had been a professor at the Salzburg Mozarteum since 1969 .

Ingrid Haebler was best known for her interpretation of the piano works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart . The naturalness and simple diction of her playing as well as the sobriety in the presentation paired with warmth and feeling, a "singing Allegro" was praised. She recorded Mozart's violin sonatas with Henryk Szeryng and Arthur Grumiaux .
