The salt's broom ( Genista salzmannii ) is a plant from the genus of the broom ( Genista ) and belongs to the family of the Leguminosae (Fabaceae). Named after Philipp Salzmann (1781–1851).
description
The shrub , whose branches end in strong, unbranched thorns, reaches heights of growth of 30 to 70 centimeters. The simple leaves are hairy underneath.
The flowers, which are usually present in pairs, arise from the leaf axils and have one to four millimeters stalk. The yellow crown is sparsely to densely hairy with a 10 millimeter long flag .
Flowering time is from April to June.
The number of chromosomes is 2n = 18 or 36.
Occurrence
Salzmann's gorse is common in Corsica , Sardinia and mainland Italy .
Garigues are preferred as the location .
