Career

Aiken attended James Kenan High School , where he was a successful football and basketball player . At the University of North Carolina he only played football and developed into a good special team player . In the 2003 NFL Draft , he was selected in the fourth round in 127th place by the Buffalo Bills . He signed a five-year contract. Since he was not sure enough to catch the offense , they let him negotiate with other teams without any conditions after the end of the contract. He switched to the New England Patriots and played there again almost exclusively in the special teams. In 2009 he was increasingly used as a wide receiver alongside Wes Welker , Randy Moss and Julian Edelman .
