Sam Fender (born April 25, 1994 in North Shields , England , United Kingdom ) is an English singer-songwriter . According to Allmusic , his music combines unusual, contemplative indie rock with soulful performance.
biography
Sam Fender grew up in a musical family in north east England. While performing in the area, he was discovered by the manager of Ben Howard , who helped him get his first single, Play God , in 2017 . After two more singles in the same year, Greasy Spoon and Millennial , Fender was nominated by the BBC alongside Sigrid , Khalid , Billie Eilish and others as part of the Sound of 2018 forecast .
In 2018 Fender went on tour as a support act for Hozier and Catfish and the Bottlemen . This year Fender released four singles, of which That Sound was the most successful (No. 3 in Belgium, No. 81 on the “Best of British 2019” list on the British radio station Radio X).
On September 13, 2019, he released his debut album Hypersonic Missiles .
